Umhverfing 4 at Nýp

Umhverfing 4, 2022. Umhverfing 4 was an invitational exhibition organized across the Westfjords in sites chosen by the participating artists. Thóra situated her contribution in Nýp,  on a hillside overlooking the Breiðafjörður, the easternmost part of the Westfjords. Entitled 8Million Years, Thóra’s sculpture was composed of an iron structure that incorporated pieces of fossilized tree, coal, and lava in a layer of cement. The objects were found along the nearby shoreline at Skarðsströnd.
